Quarterdeck 2.2

Characteristic time scales of metal-ion scavenging processes in estuarine systems. Metal ions in the aquatic environment can convert from a dissolved ion to a colloid to a particle and vice-versa. Metal ions in any of these forms can settle into the sediment and be released again aided by the activity of benthic organisms.
